Andy Gray has warned Ange Postecoglou that his Celtic tactics aren't transferable from Rugby Park to North London.

The former Scotland, Aston Villa and Wolves attacker has been stewing over Monday's chaotic clash between Tottenham and Chelsea, in which the Australian lost his first Premier League clash. Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off as Chelsea recorded a 4-1 win on a day of disallowed goals and red card carnage. Postecoglou has won plenty of plaudits since moving from Celtic to Spurs in the summer but he's hit his first bumps in the road.

Another defeat was inflicted upon them on Saturday lunchtime during a 2-1 loss at Wolves. Pre-match, Gray picked the high-line tactics with nine men apart, and said Postecoglou's style can work against Scottish foes, but not at England's top table. He told beIN Sports: "They were 2-1 down. I was going to say still in the game, but they were as much as you can be with nine men. I get the two goals in stoppage time as even then you would go searching for one.

"But I don't understand why a manager of his experience... now it might have worked in the J League and the A League where he has worked before. It is not going to work in the Premier League."

Host Richard Keys jumped in to say "it worked in Scotland" but Gray wasn't finished. He continued: "Scotland, that's Celtic or Rangers, you know that. He might have got away with that against Kilmarnock or someone like that but he won't get away with it in the Premier League.

"I like what he's done with Tottenham. He won't get away with defending that high, that loosely, with 11 vs 11 never mind 11 vs nine. They'll pick their pocket."

Keys had some criticism for Ange's high-line decision too. He added: "I thought he did the other night was naive bordering on irresponsible."
