Child benefits

Child benefits is a social security payment which is distributed to the parents or guardians of children, teenagers and in some cases young adults. In the majority of countries the child benefit is means-tested an the amount paid out to people is usually dependant on the number of children you have. In the UK the money is administered by HMRC. As of April 2010, £20.30 per week is paid for the first child and £13.40 per week is paid for each additional child. Remember to follow @RecordMoney_ on Twitter.
