Lewis couldn’t believe it when he heard they were going to work with Gavin and Karen in a production shot by Cambuslang videographer Taylor Stevenson.
He said: “When I heard that Gavin and Karen were coming on the project I was going mental.
“They were an absolute dream to work with, and such knowledgeable and funny people.
“With Gavin, we were obviously nervous at first because of how huge a star and iconic he is in Scotland, but he came in and it was like speaking with someone you’d known for years.
“To hear that he loved the script was a dream come true. Here is a guy who has worked with two of the greatest Scottish comedy scriptwriters in Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, actually liking what we wrote.
“He was so incredible that when we explained the character, he got it straight away and nailed it.”
The two have dreamed of writing and starring in a Scottish sitcom since meeting each other at Glasgow Clyde College’s Langside Campus, with Lewis believing they are now one step closer to reaching that goal.
The 22-year-old continued: “We obviously aren’t getting our hopes up, but with particularly one of the sketches, if the BBC asked us to write a 30-minute pilot, that would be the one we would develop.
“We are constantly getting that wee bit closer to our goal, and honestly we wouldn’t be able to do this without our producer Gus Beattie, our director David O. Gray and the BBC.”
