Currys has launched a pre-Black Friday sale, reducing costs of more than 140 energy-efficient kitchen appliances.
Called Green-Friday, which is running now, the retailer has also waived its £30 recycling fee for a limited time, meaning households can get their unwanted larger appliances collected for free. Until October 31, customers can get free recycling and an extra £10 off when buying selected products in the sale.
With the days getting colder, households will be doing everything to keep bills low this winter and making some tech upgrades can make a difference. There are plenty of more items on sale that can help lower your carbon footprint, from air fryers to tumble dryers, kettles, cookers and more, Wales Online reports.
Some of the deals on offer include the LOGIK LAF06B23 Air Fryer Black is currently 40 per cent off, now £59.99 from £99.99 both in-store and online. An alternative to kettles, the BREVILLE Instant HotCup VKT241 7-cup Hot Water Dispenser - Black, now £129 from £179, is available at a big reduction of £50.
Elsewhere, the BEKO Pro B5T4923IG 9kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Graphite (was £619, now £479) is fitted with sensor-drying programs to help prevent over-drying.
The HOTPOINT Gentlepower H8 W046SB UK 10 kg 1400 Spin Washing Machine – Silver (was £719, now £539) uses a feature called 'Load Detect' to check how much water has been absorbed during every wash and adjusts the water and energy needed, making it softer on bills and on the environment.
David Ville, Group Environment Manager at Currys, said: “We know e-waste is a growing worry for customers, with 75 per cent of the nation saying they’re concerned about e-waste, this includes anything with plugs, cords and electronic components. As such, Currys is committed to helping people make more sustainable decisions when it comes to choosing their home appliances.

Through our ‘long live your tech’ initiative, customers also have access to our tech experts, best in class repair capability, as well as our innovative Cash for Trash scheme.
"With this we can make sure old technology is disposed of or refurbished responsibly, – meaning less tech finds its way to landfill – all in exchange for a £5 voucher towards your next piece of kit.”
Green Friday deals will be live for five weeks, however, the free recycling and additional £10 off will only be available for one week.
