EastEnders fans believe an affair is on the horizon for two residents of Walford after a 'clue' in a recent episode.
Viewers of the BBC soap believe Jack Branning and Stacey Slater will begin having an affair in the lead-up to a major Christmas death twist.
The pair have clashed recently, while Stacey also turned to police detective Jack during her stalking ordeal at the hands of Theo Hawthorne, which is still an ongoing storyline in the show.
Jack and Stacey are linked through family and the past, as they both share granddaughter Charli, the daughter of Lily Slater and Ricky Mitchell, reports the Mirror.
Stacey was married to Jack's late nephew Bradley Branning until his death in 2010, whilst she also had two affairs with Jack's brother Max Branning.
Now, after a scene involving Jack's wife Denise Fox in recent episodes, viewers believe the pair are set for a fling with fans curious as to whether Stacey and Jack will sleep together - linking Stacey and Denise to the looming Christmas death - which spoilers have revealed will see a mystery male character murdered at The Queen Vic on Christmas Day.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer speculated: "Jack and Stacey affair?", as another said: "Jack is helping Stacey. Now suggesting that Denise and Raymond on holiday. Please don’t tell me Jack and Stacey will sleep together." A third fan wrote: "it’s got 2 be a Jack and Stacey affair soon."
The comments kept on coming with another reading: "Jack is so going to get with Stacey and Stacey will complete a Branning treble!", with one tweet reading: "The Jack and Stacey affair prediction is also feasible.
Jack suggested that Denise spends time away from Walford. He could get closer to Stacey this time. Theo could also become aware of Stacey and Jack's pact soon and this could complicate things."
Viewers speculated whether Jack could be the mystery dead body this Christmas.
Stacey and Denise are both suspects in the suspected crime that happened at The Vic in December, alongside Sharon Watts, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter and Suki Panesar.
Possible victims include Jack, Theo, Phil Mitchell, Martin Fowler, Dean Wicks, Nish Panesar, Ian Beale, Keanu Taylor and Ravi Gulati.
