Eight unique autumn Scottish baby names and their origins and meanings
The Daily Record has put together a list of eight Scottish names associated with autumn — from Logan to Rowan — to celebrate the prettiest season of the year.

As we enter the final month of autumn, now is the perfect time to take stock of what makes the season so great.
From the gorgeous colours of the trees to pumpkin-flavoured treats to dressing up for Halloween, the fall season really is arguably the best — especially when we are treated to so much spectacular scenery here in Scotland.
For those who truly love autumn, there is no better way to celebrate it than to give a child or a pet a fall-inspired name. While there are plenty of names out there that evoke the season — from Amber to Hazel to Forrest — there aren't many that are Scottish in origin.
That just makes the ones that are even more special, though. To celebrate autumn coming to an end, the Daily Record has put together a list of some Scottish names that bring to mind the harvest season, as well as their meanings.
Whether you are currently on the lookout for a Scottish autumn-inspired name, or just love learning about Scots heritage, you are sure to get something out of this.

Keith
Out of all of the names on this list, Keith is likely the most common one — though you might have had no idea what its origins and meanings are. The masculine name of Scottish origin means 'woodland' or 'forest'. It doesn't get much more autumnal than a peaceful forest, making Keith the perfect name for an autumn baby.

This gender-neutral name has Irish and Scottish origins, and is derived from the name Ruadhán. It means 'red-haired' or 'rusty', while of course is also the name of a species of tree. All three of these meanings are fitting for autumn, making it a great choice for an autumn girl or boy.

Adamina is the Scottish feminine form of Hebrew name Adam, which means 'earth' or 'red' — or 'of the red earth'. With the ground across Scotland covered in brilliant shades of red thanks to falling leaves, Adamina is certainly a suitably autumnal name. It's also not one that you come across so often, making it a great unique pick.

Similarly to many of the names here, Darach comes from the name of a tree — in this case oak. Scottish and Irish in origin, this masculine name is equal parts strong and wistful, and is an amazing choice for an autumn baby.
