French Open
Sometimes referred to as the Roland Garros, after the French aviator, the French Open is regarded as the world's premier clay court competition and one of the four, annual Grand Slam tournaments. It began in 1891 and is also known as one of tennis's most gruelling contests. The reigning 2012 champion is Rafael Nadal.
