Gary Anderson is heading home to Scotland to put the finishing touches on his William Hill World Championship preparations in Ardrossan on Saturday night.
The two-time king of the Alexandra Palace and fellow contenders Robert Thornton and John Henderson will be in action at the town’s Civic Centre along with compatriot Cameron Menzies at a spectacular event ahead of the big one.
Anderson opens his title bid against either Paul Nicholson or Kevin Burness on Friday, December 14.
Highlander Henderson’s opening tie will pitch him against German Gabriel Clemens or qualifier Aden Kirk, while Ayrshire’s Thornton needs to win a first-round game against Sweden’s Daniel Larsson to book a second-round date with Belgian Kim Huybrechts.
Anderson also plays in Edinburgh on Sunday as he gears up for the hat-trick and is strongly fancied to to complete a hat-trick after a stunning year of success on the PDC circuit,
Thornton and Henderson are also hoping for extended runs in the showpiece and see the build-up in Ardrossan as a perfect way to get into top gear for the showpiece.
