Tributes have poured in for Imelda Mounfield, the wife of Stone Roses star Mani, following news she has passed away.
Imelda Mounfield’s passing was announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday November 18, by Happy Mondays member Rowetta, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The singer posted: “So beautiful, so brave, so LOVED. We’re all going to miss you @imeldamounfield. All my thoughts and love to Mani and your beautiful, precious boys and love to all Imelda’s family & friends.”
Events agent Imelda has battled stage 4 bowel cancer after she was diagnosed with it in November 2020.
Since then, alongside her husband Mani they hosted a number of charity auctions to raise money for the likes of The Christie Hospital, The Stockport Charitable Trust and Maggie’s.
Their most recent auction was held in September at The Edwardian Radisson hotel and a number of items were auctioned off, including football boots worn by David Beckham and a signed snare drum head from Zak and Ringo Starr.
Ahead of the event, Imelda explained why she had chosen to donate the proceeds to cancer support charity Maggie’s.
She said: "Maggie's charity has supported us from the start, with counselling and using resources to help explain to our children the enormity of cancer and its effects on the whole family. It's a continuing battle for me, and I'll be using their services more in the future."
