Optical illusions can really challenge our brains and seem impossible to solve.

The mind-bending images show more than meets the eye, making them a great way to pass the time. The latest puzzle challenges takers to spot the prisoner in the cell - but like all illusions - there's a catch.

Shared by lifestyle website Jagran Josh, you only have five seconds to find the convict and if you do, it means you're a true detective with an incredible eye. At first glance it seems straight forward as the illustration depicts a man looking out of the prison window, but he is actually a guard and a red herring.

Within the chaotic picture is the outline of a prisoner and that's what you have to find, The Mirror reports. The bars on the window are bent and broken, meaning that surely the criminal has escaped - but where are they?

If you take another look at the image, however, despite the fact your five-second time limit is likely up, you'll notice that the prisoner is indeed still in the cell. They're just hiding in plain sight where you wouldn't expect them to be.

If you're still looking and it's been more than five seconds, don't give up, as you will manage to find the prisoner soon. If you're still searching, look away now because the answer is coming up.
