Outlander star Lauren Lyle was close to tears as she thanked fans for support following big wins at the Scottish BAFTAs last night.
The BAFTA Scotland awards took place in Glasgow on Sunday night, with a star-studded list of attendees including her Outlander co-stars Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe, new Dr Who star Ncuti Gatwa and Dougray Scott.
Lauren saw off competition from Izuka Hoyle (Big Boys, Ashley Jensen (Mayflies) and Vinette Robinson (Six Four) to take the best actress in a TV show award.
But it was her shock and disbelief at scooping the audience award on the night that seemed to really leave the Scots star speechless - as she expressed her delight at beating Succession megastar Brian Cox, who was also in the audience, to the accolade.
Taking to the stage to accept her award, Lauren was in high spirits as she laughed and said: “Wow I really did not think that was going to happen!
"Brian Cox! Haha! Wow. Jeez ,well, thank you so much.
“The audience award, it’s the audience, it’s people that have been loyal to shows and that have supported me.
“I mean, I started out on Outlander and my part was never meant to be that big and the audience response was why it went where it went so thank you to everyone that voted, it means the world.
“I feel like I’m going to cry.”
