It’s been claimed that the Queen enjoyed one traditional British takeaway when she was spending time at her beloved Balmoral estate.
The late monarch famously spent her summers in Aberdeenshire, where she got to have some down time beyond the gaze of the spotlight she was so often in.
And now it turns out she loved nothing more than ordering a good old fashioned chippy when she was up there, according to one well-placed royal source.
Reports claim the Queen would get a batch of fish and chips from local eateries whenever there was special occasion during her annual trip.
Speaking to Fabulous Digital, the source said: “She very occasionally treated herself to fish and chips when at Balmoral. A footman is despatched to get it from the local town of Ballater.”
Darren McGrady, who was a personal chef to the Queen, previously told The Telegraph the Queen was far from a “foodie” unlike Prince Phillip, who "loves to eat and would stand and talk food all day".

The Mirror reports Darren also let slip she had a sweet tooth and, talking to baking website RecipePlus, he revealed she was a huge fan of chocolate biscuit cake and would “go back to it again and again until its gone".
And keeping on the royal takeaway theme, the late Queen wasn’t the only member of the family who was keen on a fast food delivery. Prince William is said to be a huge fan of pizza, Chinese food and Nandos - with his love for the South African brand made public when he told co-founder Robert Brozin he was the chain's "biggest fan" after being introduced to it by his police protection officer, HELLO! reported.
In 2017, Kate Middleton told the BBC she enjoys nothing better than a curry for dinner, while Meghan Markle likes to chow down on a plat of chips. "I could eat French fries all day long," she told Best Health Canada.
