Khaadem caused an 80/1 shock in the big race of the day - the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes - under Jamie Spencer on the final day of Royal Ascot.

The rank outsider - who unseated before the race - steamed home late through the middle to chin Sacred (9/1) late on.

Frankie Dettori will end his career with 81 Royal Ascot wins as he drew a blank on the last day of the meeting in his final year riding.

The Italian couldn't get a final win on his last day despite five decent rides, his last runner Knockbrex being well beaten in the 5..35, which was won by Burdett Road (22/1), although he can reflect happily on winning the Ascot Gold Cup with Courage Mon Ami earlier in the week.

Pyledriver survived a stewards' enquiry to win took the Hardwicke Stakes (4.20), running around late on and hampering his rivals.

Saint Lawrence won the Wokingham (5.00) under Hollie Doyle - her third winner of the week - with Garry Owen's pick Apollo One finishing second.

Age Of Kings (22/1) proved best of all in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes (3.05) holding on from Zoology to win it for Aidan O'Brien who was crowned champion trainer for the week.

We kicked the day off with a 12/1 winner in the Chesham Stakes (2.30), as our pick Snellen (12/1) just held on for Gavin Cromwell, denying Pearls And Rubies who was aiming to give her trainer Aidan O'Brien a seventh win in the race.

Favourite backers ended the day happy as Ryan Moore - champion jockey for the week - won the Queen Alexandra Stakes on Dawn Rising.

Goodbye and thanks for joining us!

It's been a fabulous week's racing at Royal Ascot with every storyline delivering - even if the form book didn't always!

Courage Mon Ami winning the Gold Cup for Frankie was a highlight and, we have to admit, racing probably needs the good press of a Royal winner too - with Desert Hero obliging for King Charles earlier in the week.

We sincerely hope you were on the 150/1 winner Valiant Force in the Norfolk Stakes, or Khaadem at 80/1 in the big race today. If not, we hope you were on any of the three winners our team tipped up - Snellen 12/1, Pyledriver 7/2 and Dawn Rising 2/1.

Not that it is all about winning, as this week proved! Nothing for Frankie today but he leavs flat racings' greatest stage for the final time with four winners.

Royal Ascot bids farewell to Frankie

Fancy a walk down memory lane?

ITV Racing has helpfully done a video montage of Frankie's greatest Royal Ascot moments. Enjoy!

REVIEW: 6.10 Ascot - Ryan Moore gets his sixth win of the week

That was a really canny ride by the champion and top jockey of the week, Ryan Moore. He kept Dawn Rising up with the pace all the way and he held off all challengers late on, Moore keeping a little bit in hand with the horse finding plenty.

Jim Crowley was absolutely locked out of it in the home straight on Run For Oscar only getting daylight too late.

Stratum - seeking a hat trick in this race - never looked like getting there and probably needed a stronger pace and the younger legs he had in 2021 and 2022.

6.10: DAWN RISING WINS THE QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES

OFF! 6.10 QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES 2M6F

Coltor leads as they go past the now well-oiled crowds. Plenty of ties now at half-mast in this heat. Not sure how anyone has still got their hats on!

Dawn Rising, Estacas, First Emperor and The Grand Visir close up. Run For Oscar and Typewriter the back two.

Stratum, the winner of this race the past two years, sits happily unfussed in the midfield.

PREVIEW: 6.10 QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES 2M6F - BLOG BET

The longest race of the week by some way - it’s almost a jumps race in length! That means it requires quite a unique animal and a horse which is proven at longer distances

Stratum - a dual winner of this race - will be very much involved for Willie Mullins as he bids for the hat trick. Aged ten now, he hasn’t quite been in form this year but you’d fancy all roads had been leading to this. Run For Oscar is a serious performer over all codes and, winning the Cesarewich, he has proven he has the class and stamina to compete here.

The same goes for previous Chester Cup winner Falcon Eight though perhaps his best days are behind him.

If younger legs prevail, it could be with classy hurdler DAWN RISING for whom an eye-catching Ryan Moore booking will help. He was running on in the Saval Beg Levmoss (Group 3) at Leopardstown and is a Graded winner over hurdles at a long trip like this.

The Grand Visir is a previous winner of the Ascot Stakes and he should get this trip for a yard that does well in these races. Typewriter, the mare, gets a useful allowance and could improve for this longer trip.

If you like an outside bet, Coltor has the quality to run into a place at good odds.

Winners of the week

Aidan O'Brien has been crowned top trainer of the week, for a twelfth time I make it. Ryan Moore, who rides the favourite in the last, who has been crowned Royal Ascot top jockey for the week as no-one can catch him with one race to go.

PREVIEW: 6.10 QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES - Garry Owen's tip

Final bet of the week for Garry Owen who's had plenty of winners this week. He likes Ryan Moore in the last...

"DAWN RISING (6:10) can shade the trappy Queen Alexandra Stakes for Joseph O’Brien. The six-year-old developed into a useful Flat performer for his trainer’s father Aidan back in 2020. The gelding was successfully re-invented as a Grade 1-placed hurdler by his current connections. The bay made a pleasing return to the level when a fine third to Yashin in a Leopardstown Group 3. JP McManus’ challenger should relish today’s marathon trip so he can cash-in on an attractive mark."

REVIEW: 5.35 GOLDEN GATE STAKES

Burdett Road scooted clear there and could be called the winner a furlong to go. Lion Of War chased him home.

Sadly, Canute was pulled up with what looks like a fatal injury for the O'Brien team. There was some scrimmaging in the same indident with James Mchenry and Laafi being hampered.

One jockey the talk of the day....

Neil Callan won the last race - stealing a march on them in the home straight to get his second winner of the week. But it is all eyes on Dettori as he leads his beaten runner in - his final Royal Ascot runner - andf he gets a warm reception from an appreciative, adoring Ascot crowd.

RESULT: 5.35 GOLDEN GATE STAKES

2nd Lion Of War 9/2

OFF! 5.35 GOLDEN GATE STAKES 1M2F

They're off! Knockbrex leads them along - Frankie Dettori on his final Royal Ascot ride will hit Swinley Bottom in the lead..

Canute has been pulled up! There was some scrimmaging - James Mchenry hampered - but the O'Brien runner has been taken out.

Liberty Lane leads from Londoner, Ziryab comes in too.

Dettori: I'll end it in LA, but not like Ronaldo!

Frankie Dettori said he could finish his career at the Breeders’ Cup in Los Angeles, with his final rides back here in at Ascot for Champions’ Day in October. Speaking to Bettingsites.co.uk, he also cheekily said that Cristiano Ronaldo has shown him how not to retire! In an exclusive interview with BettingSites ahead of his final Royal Ascot before he retires from the saddle, legendary jockey says:

’d rather go out at the top. Look at Cristiano Ronaldo. In his last few games for Manchester United as a player, before he went to Saudi Arabia, he was probably not as excited or as on top of his game as he was at Man Utd in his glory days, or even his first season returning to Old Trafford. I wouldn't want to end like that.

You are only one fall away from stopping, and at my age when I do fall, I break. In the old days I used to have 1200 rides a year, now it’s probably 250. The more rides, the more chance you have of falling off.

I am still unsure exactly where the curtain will come down on my career but I can say for certain that my last rides in Britain will be on October 21 at Ascot on British Champions Day. Come what may, that’s me done in Europe.

Which continent and whether I actually finish at the Breeders’ Cup in Los Angeles, Melbourne Cup or Japan Cup, I am not sure.”

Still boiling hot here...

Plenty of these younger horses having their first sighter of a big meeting and on what is a hot day it may be who holds it together best that wins....

Liberty Lane looks good as does Have Secret. Cuban Dawn - Garry Owen's pick - is Jim Bolger's only runner of the week...

PREVIEW: 4.20 Golden Gates Stakes 1M2F - (Blog Bet)

No doubt about who all eyes will be on here - Frankie Dettori takes his final Royal Ascot ride on Knockbrex and he has a serious chance. He saw off two future winners at Pontefract a couple of starts back but it is his second behind Gregory - a winner here earlier in the week - which catches the eye the most.

Canute looked to have won with a fair bit in hand at Navan last time and on breeding and stable he will be strongly backed here. However, he is quite quirky and a big day like this might either make him or break him. Lion Of War won well at Musselburgh last time out and his 4lbs raise there might not be enough to stop him and - with a high draw being favourable in this race - he has plenty going for him.

I like LAAFI at a price though. He won easily at Nottingham before running pretty well in fourth in the Lingfield Derby Trial behind Military Order - who was fancied to win the Derby - and Waipiro who won here earlier in the week. A tongue tie might help eek a bit more out of him today.

Ziryab lurks at the bottom of the weights, up in trip and on handicap debut, for a Gosden stable that is always feared here. Cuban Dawn for Jim Bolger’s yard has been running with credit without winning but shouldn’t be dismissed under Hollie Doyle on his first run in a handicap. Shout outs also to O’Brien second string Londoner - who is down in grade today - and Have Secret who ran a big race in the London Gold Cup last time out.

Blog bet: Laafi

Garry Owen tip: Cuban Dawn

PREVIEW: 5.35 GOLDEN GATE HANDICAP 1M2F

Garry Owen had a winner earlier today was just chinned late on with Apollo One in the last race. He fancies an outsider in this one too:

"CUBAN DAWN (5:35) rates a typical Jim Bolger improver in the Golden Gates Stakes. The colt was a respectable fourth behind Paddington on debut in Listed company at the Curragh. The bay was then only narrowly denied his first success by Harbour Wind down in grade at Cork. He took his form up another notch when edged by Nation's Call in another hot maiden at Gowran. The three-year-old was staying-on strongly so he can make a winning handicap debut over 1m 2f."

RESULT: 5.00 WOKINGHAM HANDICAP

1st Saint Lawrence 22/1

2nd Apollo One 11/1

3rd Juan Les Pin 18/1

4th Mums Tipple 11/1

5th Fresh 22/1

6th Orazio 7/2

REVIEW: 5.00 WOKINGHAM HANDICAP

Archie Watson does very well with these stable-switchers and on trainer debut Saint Lawrence goes and wins it. Hollie Doyle just said he was, "like a knife through butter." I'd expect this one will win another handicap.

Apollo One ran so well in the minor money getting caught late one.

No major excuses behind although poor old Fresh didn't get the gaps until late in fifth.

Orazio never looked like winning but did run on for sixth. Mr Wagyu was seventh if you are getting paid out that far by your layer.
