Punters from Marseille to Melbourne have united to condemn the new wave of national anthems giving rugby mad fans a headache.
Lovers of the sport have been left miffed at the start of the Rugby World Cup with the acapella-based choirs hitting a bum note during the opening salvo, as fans crave a return to tradition with the famed anthems being played through the PA systems. France has been hailed as the perfect host for the illustrious tournament, however, peeved punters are demanding World Rugby get the noise up and give us our anthems.
Many have been miffed with a lack of audio and the choir and players being out of sync for all of the first four matches. And spewing fans want action as they reckons the kids are not alright when it comes to making an atmosphere to marvel at. And detractors have been plentiful with reviews of "shocking, utterly shocking" and "stop this failed experiment now, please". Onlookers, in particular, have been left gutted by a wonky rendition of iconic anthems of France and Ireland.
