Fenerbahce president Ali Koç has reportedly performed a sensational U-turn and green lit an exit for misfit Ryan Kent after crunch talks with manager Ismail Kartal.
And it is claimed that the Istanbul side are considering a move for Al-Ittihad outcast Jota to replace for Englishman in the January window. Kent has been left frustrated on the fringes of the Fenerbahce squad after coming in for stinging criticism from his boss Kartal over his fitness and performance levels since arriving from Rangers in the summer.
However, the 27-year-old appeared to have found an ally in club chief Koç despite his lacklustre form - who told Turkish media that no player would be allowed to leave the club in the winter window when quizzed on swirling rumours about Kent. But Fotospor claim that after crunch talks during the international break with his manager, the supremo has climbed down from his original stance.
The decision has now been "left to Kartal" amid speculation that Kent could make a return to Rangers on loan. Kartal is reportedly keen on dipping into the market to bring in a goalscoring wide man - with Kent only netting once so far this term during his 14 games.
And Turkish outlet Karar claim that former Celtic hero Jota is on Kartal's wishlist amid his Saudi Pro League nightmare. Incoming Al-Ittihad boss Marcelo Gallardo is said to be happy to allow the winger to leave in January with the attacker being left out of the foreign player list for league games.
It is reported that Jota "did not want to leave the Saudi team" in the summer when Fenerbahce are said to have first made their approach. Koç is said to have been convinced by Kartal to revive their interest with Kent set to be shipped out.
