Two pensioners were rushed to hospital after being hit by a car being driven by a fellow OAP. The man and woman were struck on Mayfield Road, at West Mains Road, in Edinburgh.
As reported by our sister title, Edinburgh Live, the Subaru which hit the man, 88, and woman, 86, was being driven by an 80-year-old woman. Officers from Police Scotland are now appealing to the public to try to locate anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
The incident took place at around 1.30pm yesterday, Saturday, June 24, 2023. They were struck by the black vehicle while crossing the road and were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Police say they remain in hospital but their condition is described as stable. Meanwhile, the 80-year-old female driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick, of the Roads Policing Unit in Livingston, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information, including dash-cam footage.
"If you have not yet come forward to police, then please call officers via 101 quoting reference number 2103 of Saturday, 24 June 2023."
