Weddings
In Scotland, civil marriages are now more popular than church ones, with 15,000 civil weddings in 2011. The minimum age for marrying without parental consent is 16. Civil partnerships became available in the UK in 2005 and the Scottish Government are consulting the public about the introduction of same-sex weddings.
